The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released a notice on 11 April 2026 regarding the SSC GD Constable Examination 2026. As per the official notice, the SSC GD exam is scheduled to be conducted from 27 April to 30 May 2026. Before appearing for the examination, all candidates are required to complete the Slot Booking process.
What is SSC GD Slot Booking?
Slot Booking means selecting your preferred exam week. Candidates cannot choose an exact date or time, but they can select the week in which they wish to appear for the examination. SSC will then assign the final date based on availability and candidate preferences.

How to Complete SSC GD Slot Booking 2026 – Step by Step
Follow these steps carefully to complete your slot booking:
Step 1: Visit the official SSC website — ssc.gov.in
Step 2: Open the SSC GD Constable Examination 2026 section
Step 3: Click on the Slot Booking Link
Step 4: Enter your Registration Number
Step 5: Enter your Password
Step 6: Fill in the Captcha Code correctly — it is case-sensitive
Step 7: Click on Login
If you have forgotten your password, use the \”Forgot Password\” option available on the login page to recover it.
After Login – How to Select Week Preference
Once you have logged in successfully, follow these steps:
- Go to the \”My Applications\” section
- Click on the option \”Select Week Preference\”
- You will see four preference options:
- Preference 1 – Your most preferred week
- Preference 2 – Second choice
- Preference 3 – Third choice
- Preference 4 – Backup option
Select your preferences carefully. If your first preference week is not available, SSC will assign you a slot based on your next preferences.
Example:
- If you want to appear between 18 May to 23 May, select Week 3 as Preference 1
- If you prefer 25 May to 30 May, select Week 4 as Preference 1

- Click on \”Submit Preference\”
- Review your selected week options carefully before confirming
- Click OK to confirm
