Compassionate Ground Appointment Scheme

The Office of the Director General, Assam Rifles, Shillong has officially released the recruitment notification for 117 posts under the Compassionate Ground Appointment Scheme 2026. This special recruitment is only for dependent family members of Assam Rifles personnel who were killed in action, died while in service, discharged on medical grounds, or went missing during service.

There is no application fee for this recruitment. Eligible dependent candidates from across India may apply as per the official notification for this recruitment. Ensure you submit your application before the deadline on May 11, 2026.

Who Can Apply?

Kindly Note – This recruitment is only for dependent family members of Assam Rifles personnel who were:

• Killed in Action (KIA)
• Died While in Service
• Discharged from Service on Medical Grounds
• Missing While in Service

Only ONE dependent family member per personnel is eligible to apply.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 28 Years
• Age Cut-Off Date: 01 January 2026
• Age relaxation applicable for reserved categories as per government rules

Salary

• Rifleman GD: ₹21,700 – ₹69,100 (Level 3, 7th Pay Commission)
• In-hand salary approximately ₹18,000 to ₹70,000+ depending on post and location
• Additional benefits: DA, Hardship Allowance, Risk Allowance and other service benefits

Selection Process

1. Assam Rifles Physical Measurement (PST) and Endurance Test (PET)
2. Written Exam – Compassionate Ground candidates are EXEMPTED
3. Trade / Skill Test – for technical post candidates only
4. Document Verification – at Shillong HQ
5. Medical Examination
