The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) is a constitutional body that conducts recruitment examinations for administrative, police, and allied services under the Government of Assam. APSC has now released the e-Admission Certificate for the CCE Preliminary Examination, 2025, scheduled for 5 July 2026.

The Preliminary Examination 2025 screens candidates for the following 11 services/posts, with a combined total of 78 vacancies:
- Assam Civil Service (Jr. Grade) – Administrative role; pay scale Rs. 30,000–1,10,000 with Grade Pay 13,300.
- Assam Police Service (Jr. Grade) – Law and order administration; pay scale Rs. 30,000–1,10,000 with Grade Pay 13,300.
- District Transport Officer – Transport regulation and licensing duties; Grade Pay 12,700.
- Superintendent of Excise – Enforcement of excise laws; Grade Pay 12,700.

Who Can Apply
Candidates who applied earlier and meet the following conditions are eligible to download the admit card and appear for the exam:
- Must be an Indian citizen.
- Age should be between 21 and 38 years as on 01.01.2025 (relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PwBD as per Government norms).
- Must hold a Degree from a recognized University.
- Should be able to speak Assamese or another official/associate language of Assam, or any tribal language of the State.
- Must be registered with a District Employment Office of Assam.
- Must be an original inhabitant of Assam.

Selection Process
The APSC CCE 2025 selection follows three stages:
- Preliminary Examination – Objective type, two papers (General Studies-I and General Studies-II of 200 marks each). Paper-II is qualifying in nature with 33% minimum qualifying marks. This stage only screens candidates for the Main Examination.
- Main (Written) Examination – Conventional essay-type papers; candidates 11–12 times the notified vacancies are called based on Prelims performance.
- Interview/Personality Test – Conducted in a ratio of 1:3 against advertised vacancies; final merit is based on combined Main exam and interview marks.
How to Download APSC CCE Admit Card 2026
Step 1: Visit the official APSC Recruitment website apscrecruitment.in.
Step 2: Go to the Important Links section and click on “Download Admit Card.”
Step 3: Select the Examination Name, enter your Application No./Roll No. and Date of Birth.
Step 4: Click on “Print Admit Card.”
Step 5: Your e-Admission Certificate will be displayed on screen.
Step 6: Download and take a printout for the exam day.

APSC CCE Exam Centres
The Preliminary Examination will be conducted at 35 district headquarters across Assam, including Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Silchar, Tezpur, Nagaon, Dhubri, Goalpara, Diphu, Haflong, Kokrajhar, North Lakhimpur, and other listed centres as per the e-Admission Certificate.
Documents to Carry to the Exam Hall
Candidates must carry the printed e-Admission Certificate along with any one valid photo ID proof: PAN Card, Driving Licence, Voter ID Card, Passport, Institutional ID Card, Government/PSU ID Card, or Bank Passbook with photograph.
Exam Day Instructions
- Admit card printout is mandatory; candidates without it will not be allowed entry.
- Carry a valid photo ID along with the admit card.
- Reach the exam centre well before the reporting time.
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, and calculators are not allowed inside the exam hall.
