Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject, or a Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject. A recognised Diploma or Certificate in Translation, or relevant experience in translation work, is also required.

Selection Process
SSC CHT 2026 selection happens in three stages:
Stage 1 – Paper I (Computer-Based Exam) This is an objective-type test covering General Hindi, General English, and General Awareness. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
Stage 2 – Paper II (Descriptive) Candidates who qualify Paper I appear for Paper II, which is a pen-and-paper based test. It includes translation passages and essay writing in Hindi and English.
Stage 3 – Document Verification and Medical Examination Final selected candidates go through document verification followed by a medical fitness check before joining.
