A total of 167 vacancies are available under this recruitment drive. Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age as on 1st May 2026. SC, ST candidates and Government employees are eligible for an upper age relaxation of 5 years.
Educational Qualification Candidates must have passed Madhyamik (Class 10) or equivalent from a recognized board.
Domicile A valid Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura (PRTC) is mandatory. Candidates from other states are not eligible to apply.
Desirable Knowledge of Bengali or Kok-borok language is considered desirable but not compulsory.
Pay Scale
Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary under Pay Level-6 of the Tripura State Pay Matrix 2018, with a basic pay range of Rs. 5,700 to Rs. 24,000 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 2,100. The salary is subject to revision by the government from time to time.
Physical Standards
Since this is a field-based post, candidates must meet the minimum physical requirements. Persons with disabilities are not eligible for this post.

Selection Process
The selection for Tripura Forest Guard 2026 will happen in the following stages:
1. Written Examination (85% weightage) The written test is MCQ-based and covers Class 10 level topics. The subject-wise marks distribution is:

General Knowledge will cover topics related to Tripura, North-East India, flora, fauna, climate, soil, river systems, life science, physical science, and law.
2. Physical Standard Verification Candidates shortlisted from the written exam will be measured for height and chest girth as per the standards above.
3. Physical Efficiency Test (qualifying) Candidates must cover the following distance on foot within 4 hours:
- Male – 25 km
- Female – 16 km
Only those who complete this test will move forward.
4. Interview (15% weightage) Candidates who clear all previous stages will be called for a personal interview.
5. Medical Examination Final candidates must pass a Medical Examination conducted by the Health Department, Government of Tripura, confirming fitness for strenuous outdoor and field activities

Important Conditions to Know
- Vacancies may increase or decrease depending on departmental requirements
- Candidates applying for both Forester and Forest Guard posts need not appear for the physical test twice
- No individual call letters will be issued — check the official website regularly
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the recruitment process
- Government employees must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer
- Women candidates must carry a self-declaration certificate stating they are not pregnant on the date of the physical test
- The Selection Committee’s decision will be final in all matters related to recruitment
- Any disputes must be submitted in writing to the Chairman, Selection Board, Forest Department
