Employees State Insurance Corporation, commonly known as ESIC, is a statutory body working under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. ESIC runs one of the largest networks of hospitals and medical colleges across India and regularly releases recruitment notifications for medical and teaching professionals. ESI-PGIMSR and ESIC Medical College located at Joka, Kolkata has released multiple active recruitment notifications in 2026 for Teaching Faculty, Nursing College Principal and Vice Principal, and Senior Resident posts. All recruitment are on a contractual basis and selection is done through walk in interview mode. No online application is required for most of these posts.

Educational Qualification

For Professor: DM or MCh or DNB in the concerned super specialty subject along with 3 years experience as Associate Professor. Minimum 4 research publications in indexed journals required. Basic course in Medical Education Technology and Biomedical Research also required.

For Associate Professor: DM or MCh or DNB with 4 years experience as Assistant Professor. Minimum 2 research publications as first or corresponding author in indexed journals required.

For Assistant Professor: DM or MCh or DNB in the concerned super specialty subject.

Educational Qualification

For Principal Cum Professor: MSc Nursing from a recognized university with minimum 15 years of experience after MSc Nursing. Out of total experience 12 years must be in collegiate nursing programmes. PhD in Nursing will be given preference.

For Vice Principal Cum Professor: MSc Nursing with minimum 13 years of experience after MSc Nursing. At least 10 years must be in collegiate programmes. PhD in Nursing preferred.

Salary Structure

No additional allowance will be paid apart from the consolidated remuneration mentioned above.

Non Clinical departments include Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine, Microbiology, Community Medicine, and Pharmacology.

Clinical departments include General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Radiology, Anaesthesia, Paediatrics, ICU, Cardiology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Urology, Medical Oncology, Nephrology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, and Chest Medicine.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold MD, MS, DNB, MDS, DM, or equivalent postgraduate qualification in the relevant specialty from a recognized institution. Valid MCI, NMC, or State Medical Council registration is mandatory.

Salary

Selected candidates will receive approximately Rs 1,48,669 per month as consolidated remuneration under 7th CPC structure. Additional allowances may be applicable as per ESIC rules.

Candidates must carry the following documents at the time of interview:

Candidates must report between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM on the interview date. Candidates arriving after 10:30 AM will not be considered under any circumstances.

Selection Process – All Recruitment

Step 1 – Download the official notification from esic.gov.in and read all eligibility conditions carefully.

Step 2 – Fill the prescribed application form. Print it on A4 size paper.

Step 3 – Arrange all original documents and one set of self attested photocopies.

Step 4 – Prepare the Demand Draft for application fee if applicable payable at Kolkata.

Step 5 – Reach the interview venue well before 9:30 AM on the scheduled date.

Step 6 – Submit documents for verification at the Academic Block 2nd Floor ESI-PGIMSR and ESIC Medical College Joka.

Step 7 – Appear before the Selection Board for interview.

Step 8 – Final selection is based on interview performance only.

Important Instructions

All these recruitments are contractual and do not guarantee permanent appointment. ESIC reserves the right to cancel or postpone any recruitment at any stage without prior notice. Candidates who have already completed three years of Senior Residency in government institutions are not eligible to apply for Senior Resident posts. Private practice is not allowed during the contractual period. Retired candidates from Central or State Government equivalent posts are eligible to apply. No TA or DA will be paid for attending the interview or joining the institution. Any wrong information or false documents will lead to immediate disqualification and legal action.
