Oil India Limited, commonly known as OIL, is one of India’s most reputed Maharatna Public Sector Undertakings operating under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The company has officially announced a Special Recruitment Drive for 2026, inviting applications from eligible Persons with Benchmark Disabilities across Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. A total of 49 vacancies are on offer across Grade III and Grade VII positions at OIL’s Field Headquarters located in Duliajan, Assam.

This is a genuine opportunity for differently-abled candidates who hold the right qualifications and are looking for a stable, well-paying government job. These are not fresh vacancies — they are backlog and shortfall posts that were reserved in previous recruitment cycles and are now being filled as per Government of India directives. Post-wise Vacancy Details

All 49 vacancies are exclusively reserved for PwBD candidates who are domiciled in Assam or Arunachal Pradesh. Here is the complete post-wise breakdown.

Grade III – Pay Scale: ₹26,600 to ₹90,000 per month

Grade VII – Pay Scale: ₹37,500 to ₹1,45,000 per month

Age Limit as on June 8, 2026

Please note that the 10-year age relaxation for PwBD candidates has already been factored into the limits shown above. Your date of birth will only be verified through the Class 10 Board Admit Card, Pass Certificate, or Marksheet. No other document will be accepted as proof of age.

Additional age relaxation is available to existing OIL employees, Trade and Diploma apprentices who completed their training within OIL, and certain categories of Work Contract Labour as described in the official notification.

PwBD Category Eligibility

Each post in this recruitment has been identified as suitable for specific types of benchmark disabilities. Candidates must hold a valid Disability Certificate showing a disability of 40 percent or more, issued by a Medical Board duly constituted by the Central or State Government.

For Junior Technician posts in Electronics Mechanic and Instrument Mechanic — Low Vision, Hard of Hearing, One Arm, One Leg, One Arm and One Leg, Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims, Autism Spectrum Disorder (Mild and Moderate), Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disability, Mental Illness, and Multiple Disabilities involving the above categories.

For Junior Technician (Fitter) — Low Vision, Hard of Hearing, One Arm, One Leg, Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims, Autism Spectrum Disorder (Mild), Specific Learning Disability, Mental Illness, and Multiple Disabilities.

For Junior Office Assistant — Low Vision, Hard of Hearing, Both Legs, One Arm, One Arm and One Leg, Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims, Muscular Dystrophy, Autism Spectrum Disorder (Mild), Specific Learning Disability, Mental Illness, and Multiple Disabilities.

For Junior Engineer (Electrical) — Hard of Hearing, One Leg, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims, Leprosy Cured, Autism Spectrum Disorder (Mild), Specific Learning Disability, and Multiple Disabilities involving the applicable categories.

If sufficient candidates from a specific PwBD category are not available, vacancies will be redistributed among other eligible PwBD categories as per Government of India guidelines. Refer to the official PDF notification for the complete list of abbreviations and detailed category information.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of two stages. There is no interview. There is no waiting list.

The first stage is the Computer Based Test. Candidates will be shortlisted for the CBT purely based on their declarations in the online application form. Merely receiving an admit card does not mean your eligibility has been confirmed.

The second stage is Document Verification. After the CBT results are declared, candidates will be called for document verification in a 1:1 ratio — meaning one candidate per vacancy in order of merit. If a shortlisted candidate fails to produce the required documents, the next candidate on the merit list will be called.

Final selection is made in order of merit based on CBT marks, subject to fulfilling all eligibility conditions and clearing the Pre-Employment Medical Examination.

Computer Based Test Pattern

The exam will be bilingual — conducted in both English and Assamese. There is no negative marking. The qualifying marks are 40 out of 100. The total duration of the CBT is 2 hours and 40 minutes, which already includes 40 minutes of compensatory time for PwBD candidates (20 minutes per hour).

In case of a tie in marks, preference will be given to the candidate with higher marks in Section C. If Section C marks are also equal, the candidate with higher Section B marks will be preferred. If even those are equal, the older candidate will get priority.

Documents to Keep Ready

Before you apply, gather all the documents listed below. At the Document Verification stage, you must bring all originals along with one complete set of self-attested photocopies. A single missing document at this stage will result in cancellation of your candidature.

All certificates, marksheets, and testimonials must have been issued on or before June 8, 2026. Documents with a date after the cutoff will not be accepted under any circumstances.

For all post codes — Valid Employment Exchange Registration Card from Assam or Arunachal Pradesh. Class 10 Admit Card, Marksheet, or Pass Certificate as date of birth proof. Valid Disability Certificate showing 40 percent or more disability. Caste Certificate for SC, ST, or OBC candidates. Non-Creamy Layer Certificate for OBC candidates. Income and Assets Certificate for EWS candidates. Valid Photo ID such as Aadhaar, PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport, or Driving Licence. No Objection Certificate if currently employed in a Government or PSU organisation.

For Post Codes 1 to 4 (Junior Technician posts) — Marksheet and Pass Certificate of Class 10. National or Provisional Trade Certificate in the relevant trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.

For Post Code 5 (Junior Office Assistant) — Marksheets and Pass Certificate of Class 10+2. Diploma or Certificate in Computer Application of minimum 6 months from a recognised institute.

For Post Code 6 (Junior Engineer Electrical) — Marksheet and Pass Certificate of Class 10. Marksheet and Pass Certificate of 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering. Valid Electrical Supervisor’s Certificate of Competency covering at minimum Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4, issued by the Electrical Licensing Board, Government of Assam.

Concessions Available to PwBD Candidates

No application fee — the form is completely free to submit. Travel fare reimbursement for appearing in the CBT — 2nd class Rail or Bus fare by the shortest route will be reimbursed on production of proof. Extra time of 40 minutes during the CBT. Scribe facility is available for eligible candidates who have physical limitations in writing, subject to producing the required certificate from a Competent Authority. Candidates must arrange their own scribe and bear the cost themselves.

How to Apply – Step by Step

Applications are accepted through online mode only. No other mode of application — postal, email, or in person — will be accepted.

Step 4 — Fill in all your details carefully — full name, date of birth, qualification, caste category, PwBD category, Employment Exchange Registration number, email ID, and mobile number. Every detail must match your documents exactly.

Step 5 — Upload your recent colour passport-size photograph and your signature in the format and size specified in the application form.

Step 6 — Submit the form. No payment is required. After successful submission, the system will generate a unique Application ID. Note it down immediately and keep it safe.

Step 7 — Take a printout of the submitted application form and also save a PDF copy on your device. You will need this at the CBT, Document Verification, and Medical Examination stages.

Step 8 — Keep visiting the official OIL website for Admit Card updates. You will also receive communication on your registered email ID and mobile number. Carry a valid photo ID along with the Admit Card to the exam centre.
