Jai Prakash University was founded on 22 November 1990 under the Bihar State Universities Act, 1976. It is named after the great freedom fighter and socialist leader Lok Nayak Jayprakash Narayan. About the 4-Year CBCS Programmed
This programme runs for 4 years across 8 semesters. Students can choose major, minor, multidisciplinary, skill enhancement, and value-added courses as part of the flexible CBCS structure. There are also multiple exit options available — after 2 semesters students get a UG Certificate, after 4 semesters a UG Diploma, after 6 semesters a 3-Year Degree, and after all 8 semesters a full Honours Degree.
