Assam ITI Admission 2026 notification has been officially released by the Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training, Assam. Eligible candidates can apply online for admission into Government and Private ITIs across Assam through the official e-counselling portal.

ITI stands for Industrial Training Institute. These institutes provide practical and technical skill-based training to students in various trades. Candidates must be at least 14 years of age as on 1st July 2026. There is no upper age limit mentioned for general candidates in the official notification.

Only Permanent Residents of Assam are eligible to apply for ITI admission under this notification.

All candidates must be physically fit to undergo rigorous vocational training. A medical check-up is required at the time of admission.

For the Fire Technology and Industrial Safety Management trade, candidates must meet these specific physical requirements:

  • Height: Minimum 165 cm
  • Weight: Minimum 52 kg
  • Chest: Normal 81 cm, Expanded 85 cm
  • Medical fitness certificate from a registered MBBS doctor is mandatory

Step 1: Go to the official ITI Assam website: https://itiassam.nic.in/

Step 3: Fill in all your personal details carefully — name, date of birth, residential address, contact number, and marks from your qualifying examination. Make sure every detail matches your original documents exactly.

Step 4: Upload scanned copies of your required documents such as Class 8 or Class 10 mark sheet, identity proof, and caste certificate if applicable.

Step 5: After completing registration, take a printout of your registration details. You will need this at the time of document verification.

Step 6: Visit your nearest Government ITI in person for verification of your original documents within the dates given in the schedule above.

Step 7: After verification, your rank will be generated on 15th June 2026. Log in to the portal and check your rank.

Step 8: Fill in your ITI and trade preferences online based on your rank and interest during the choice-filling window.

Step 9: Check allotment results on the portal. If you receive a seat, print your allotment letter and deposit the admission fee at the concerned ITI within the dates mentioned.

Step 10: Report to your allotted ITI once classes begin. Candidates who do not report within 15 days from the commencement of training will have their seat cancelled automatically.

30% seats in each ITI are reserved for women candidates. If these seats are not fully occupied, they will be opened for male candidates in co-education ITIs.
If reserved category seats remain vacant due to lack of eligible candidates, they will be filled from the unreserved category from the 4th or 5th counselling round onwards.
There is no entrance exam. Seats are allocated on merit, based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
  • For Post-Matric trades: If two candidates have equal percentage, marks in Mathematics are checked first, then English. If still equal, seats are allotted by system randomisation.
  • For Under-Matric trades: Same rule applies using Class 8 marks.
  • For Engineering and Non-Engineering trades: Candidates must have passed with Mathematics and English.
  • For BLTT trade: English and Bodo language marks are considered.
  • Divyang candidates must produce a trade suitability certificate from the National Career Service Centre for Differently Able, ITI Guwahati Campus, Gopinath Nagar, Guwahati-16.
  • EWS candidates must submit a Family Income Certificate as EWSs for Assam, issued by the Competent Authority, at the time of document verification at Govt. ITI.
