Seat Allocation Process – How It Works
After registration closes on May 18, 2026, Delhi University will declare seat allocation results based on the following criteria in order of priority — CLAT 2026 merit score, category of the candidate, availability of seats, and submitted programme preferences.
When a seat is allocated to you, you must log in to your dashboard and click “Accept” within the deadline. Inactivity will be treated as non-acceptance and your seat will be cancelled automatically.
After accepting, the Faculty of Law will verify your documents and either approve or reject your application. If approved, you must pay the admission confirmation fee to finalize your seat.
Upgrade and Freeze Options
After getting admission, every candidate will have two choices:
Upgrade – If you want to try for a higher preference programme in subsequent allocation rounds, select the Upgrade option. Your current seat will be auto-cancelled if you receive a better preference.
Freeze – If you are satisfied with your allocated seat and do not want to participate in further rounds, select Freeze. Once frozen, upgrade option will no longer be available.
Fee Relaxation for Economically Weaker Students
Delhi University provides financial relief to admitted students based on parental annual income:
| Parental Annual Income | Fee Concession |
|---|---|
| ₹4 lakhs or less (both parents combined) | 90% waiver on admission fees |
| More than ₹4 lakhs but less than ₹8 lakhs | 50% waiver on admission fees |
| PwBD Category candidates | 75% concession on total fees |
Income Tax Returns of parents for financial years 2023-24 and 2024-25 are required for fee relaxation. This benefit is renewed every academic year.
Laptop Reimbursement Scheme
All admitted students are eligible for a one-time laptop cost reimbursement of the actual purchase price or ₹50,000 — whichever is lower. The invoice must be in the student’s name, the purchase must not be on EMI, and payment must be in Indian Rupees only. The application for reimbursement must be submitted within 60 days of the closure of all admission rounds.

| Withdrawal after last date of admission | No refund |
| Registration fee | Non-refundable in all cases |
| Withdrawal fee (₹1,000) | Non-refundable |

Rule 2 – If still tied, higher aggregate in best 4 subjects of Class XII is considered.
Rule 3 – If still tied, higher aggregate in best 5 subjects of Class XII is used.
