SAMARTH Portal Assam 2026

College Admission Guide for FYUGP and FYIMP Step by Step Process

Getting admission into a good college in Assam just became a lot more organized. The Government of Assam has launched the SAMARTH Portal for all undergraduate and integrated programmed admissions for the academic session 2026 to 2027. If you are a student looking to take admission in any government or government-aided college in Assam this year, this portal is your single stop for the entire process. Read this guide carefully from start to finish before you begin your registration.

SAMARTH is a centralised online admission portal introduced by the Directorate of Higher Education, Assam. The full name of the portal is Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal. It was built to bring all college admissions under one roof so that students do not have to run from college to college or submit separate applications at multiple places.

Through this portal, a student can register once, fill in their academic details, choose up to 10 colleges of their preference, and track their admission status online. It covers both the Four-Year Undergraduate Programmed known as FYUGP and the Five-Year Integrated Masters Programmed known as FYIMP. This is a major step forward in making higher education admissions in Assam transparent, fair, and hassle-free for students across the state.
